Laetitia Blot and Mariam Torchinava Compete for the Hexagon MMA Title

After the HEXAGONE MMA 4 competition held in Dubai in August, HEXAGONE MMA, the fastest growing MMA promotion in Europe, is heading to Germany for its next event, HEXAGONE MMA 5. The competition will take place in the most famous German hall for combat sports, the Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen, near Düsseldorf, on October 15.

HEXAGONE MMA continues its pioneering strategy in the promotion of female combat sports with its second event for a world title dedicated to women. The first Flyweight World Championship proposed by the organization will see undefeated athletes Laëtitia BLOT and Mariam TORCHINAVA compete in the cage.

This event is organized in partnership with the German promotion GMC (German MMA Championship), and represents the first joint Franco-German event in mixed martial arts and the collaborative approach of HEXAGONE MMA to build a European power in MMA.

Main Event – ​​Women’s World Championship -57kg: Laëtitia BLOT 🇫🇷 VS Mariam TORCHINAVA 🇬🇪

Laëtitia BLOT is an internationally renowned judoka who has successfully competed in a variety of sports and combat sports at the highest level. She recently marked the history of this sport by becoming the first female MMA athlete to win a match in France, following the legalization of this sport in France.

BLOT has represented France in international Judo competitions since 2003, with numerous victories and titles including 3 gold medals, a double title of French champion in Judo, and Wrestling in 2006. She has also reached the highest levels in Sambo and now plans, at 39, to become the first French woman Flyweight world champion in MMA, and the first French sportswoman to reach the top step of the podium in 3 different sports. In her MMA career, Laëtitia is so far undefeated with an impressive three wins and a draw and won the match over her opponents either through strikes or submission.

Mariam TORCHINAVA is the top-ranked female mixed martial artist in Georgia and comes into this world title match with an undefeated record of three wins and no losses.

TORCHINAVA has fought in her native Georgia and in neighboring Kazakhstan and has been impressive in knocking out her opponents. She trains in Batumi, Georgia’s second-largest city.

“This historic event, in partnership with the GMC league, Germany’s premier organization, allows HEXAGONE MMA to increase international awareness of European mixed martial arts by working with key institutional partners across the region to set up the “strongest possible ecosystem for our athletes. This will also be the second successive international event featuring world-class women competing for a championship title, with HEXAGONE MMA continuing to showcase the best female athletes in Europe,” says the co-founder Jérôme Pourrut.
