The former BRAVE CF Lightweight champion Luan Santiago has been given an opportunity to secure a spot to fight for the BRAVE CF Super Lightweight Champion title if he is to succeed in his BRAVE CF 49: Super Fights main event bout on March 25th against Benoit Saint-Denis.
Santiago has been eyeing the BRAVE CF Super Lightweight Champion title since it was first conquered by the current champion Eldar Eldarov. Last January, the title was defended for the first time by the champion in Sochi, Russia against one of Santiago’s fellow Brazilians Leonardo Mafra, which only added the fuel to Santiago’s wrath.
“I think about [the BRAVE CF title] every single day,” says Santiago. “Whenever I train, when I wake up, when I’m tired. I’ll only leave the cage without an arm , without a leg.”
Santiago claims that he is the new generation and seems to be looking past his current fight, focused on his main goal, grabbing the title from Eldarov and bringing a BRAVE CF title back to Brazil.
“I’m going after Eldarov who likes to hold on to his belt,” says Santiago. “He’s a great fighter, but I’m the new generation and his game won’t work on my game.”
Santiago will be facing Benoit Saint-Denis as the main event for BRAVE CF 49: Super Fights for the number one contender spot for the Super Lightweight title at Arad Fort in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The event is the third installment of the Return to Kombat Kingdom which is leading up to BRAVE CF 50, a celebration of BRAVE CF being the only promotion to ever visit 21 countries in its first 50 events.
