A huge title fight between Luke Shanks and Jake Hadley is among the first bouts confirmed for Cage Warriors’ return to action this December, which will see the promotion stage 3 back-to-back events at London’s York Hall.
In one of the most anticipated title bouts in the history of the Cage Warriors flyweight division, reigning champion Luke Shanks (7-1) will take on undefeated rising star Jake Hadley (6-0) at CW117.
Shanks put on a stunning display on Cage Warriors’ ‘THE TRILOGY’ in September, dominating former champion Samir Faiddine over five rounds. Earlier in the night, “White Kong” Hadley had knocked Shaj Haque out cold and called for a shot at the title next.
On December 10th – the first night of ‘THE TRILOGY Strikes Back’, the two men will finally meet.
Hadley said: “With this win, I believe I will be thought of as the greatest flyweight ever from Europe, having beat 3 world champions and having 2 world titles to my name.”
Shanks declined to comment any further than his plans to “smash” Hadley come December 10th.
Elsewhere in the flyweight division, surging contender Adam Amarasinghe (6-2) will take on former title challenger Sam Creasey (12-3) on the same event.
Amarasinghe enters the bout after back-to-back wins over Jake Bond and Coner Hignett, and believes a win at CW117 could earn him the title shot over the winner of Shanks and Hadley. Creasey remains one of the top flyweight names on the continent, and returned to winning ways with a win over Frenchman Nicolas Leblond on ‘THE TRILOGY’ in September.
Leblond (5-3) himself will also compete at CW117, this time taking on Cork, Ireland’s Darren O’Gorman (6-5).
O’Gorman, a high-level Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt and former Muay Thai fighter training out of London’s MMA Clinic, has highlight-reel submission finishes over Bryan Creighton and Salih Kulucan.
Cage Warriors 117, 118 and 119 will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December. All 3 of the behind-closed-doors events will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass live from London’s York Hall, the venue that hosted the first ever Cage Warriors event in July 2002.
Stay tuned for further fight updates, coming very soon.
