“Mauritius, South Africa or your backyard; Just sign the contract and you won’t be awake to give up” – Shorty accepting to claim back his title in Nkosi’s homeland
Nkosi Ndebele’s recent callout to Jose Torres for a trilogy fight in Africa has been met with a fiery response from the former champion. With BRAVE Combat Federation returning to Africa for the organization’s debut event in Mauritius, the call out to Torres from Nkosi had gained some attention.
Now, Torres has verbally hit back at his arch-rival, further raising the stakes for a potential third fight between the two. The former BRAVE CF Bantamweight champion, who is no stranger to challenges, has fired back at Nkosi and expressed his readiness for a fight in Africa.
“You fought me in Colombia and lost, you came to Bahrain and made me give up in front of my people. Kudos to you! My job now is to get the honor to go down to your home soil and make you give up in front of your people,” Torres said.
Torres went one step further and promised that he is going to stop Nkosi in the trilogy fight while urging the champion to sign the contract for the fight. “I know you are not gonna give up. I won’t let you give up. You won’t get a chance to give up. Because you won’t be awake to give up. I can’t wait. Mauritius, South Africa or your backyard; Just sign the contract,” Shorty concluded.
Nkosi and Torres first locked horns at BRAVE CF 73 in Colombia for the vacant Bantamweight title. In a closely contested battle, Torres emerged victorious via a split decision, much to the surprise of Nkosi and many others, including BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid.
Despite the setback and controversy, Nkosi was able to level the scores four months later at BRAVE CF 80 in Bahrain. Nkosi forced Torres to quit in the third round of the main event showdown at BRAVE CF 80 and as a result, The South African was crowned the BRAVE CF Bantamweight champion; setting the stage for a historic third fight.
If the trilogy fight between Torres and Nkosi happens in Africa as per the wishes of the fighters, it will be the first-ever trilogy in the history of MMA with each fight taking place in a different continent. It will also be the first-ever trilogy fight in the history of BRAVE Combat Federation.
