The promotion announced on Tuesday (October 4, 2022) that Natalya “The Beast” Speece (2-2) fighting out of Albuquerque, NM by the way of Orange, California will take on Desiree “Dirty Dez” Yanez (5-4) fighting out of Texas.

Speece is no stranger to fighting under the PFC banner as she won her last fight against Katty Strite via unanimous decision at Peak Fighting 17. Speece trains out at Jackson Wink MMA and trains alongside Holly Holm, Michelle Waterson, and more. She is ready to bite down on the mouth guard, put on her gloves, and face a very tough opponent in Yanez. FightBook MMA had the opportunity to talk to “The Beast” about her thoughts on fighting for the promotion again and her thoughts on her opponent.

Natalya “The Beast” Speece: “I’m so grateful to be a part of the Peak family. They put on such a professional show and each card they put on I’m more and more impressed. They treat their fighters the way they should be treated. They also have an amazing team working behind the scenes making everything happen. I would love to be the Flyweight Champion for Peak Fighting and represent it very well. I’ve actually known about my opponent for a while and really respect her as a martial artist. She’s well rounded and down to bang which always makes for a fun fight. I know she wants the belt as much as I do and she’ll be coming hard for it, but so am I. I’m excited to test my skills against an experience fighter such as herself.”

Yanes is stepping into the PFC cage after a year of not competing. Yanes is no strange fighting under the big lights as she has fought for XKO, LFA, Combate Global, and Bellator MMA. She did lose her last fight against Bruna Ellen by a really hard-fought fight by split decision at Bellator 271. She is now ready to come back to the cage and showcase her skills. FightBook MMA reached out to “Dirty Dez” and we asked her about her thoughts on fighting for the first under the PFC banner and her thoughts on her opponent.

Desiree “Dirty Dez” Yanez:“Honestly it’s been a year since I’ve fought. I’m just grateful my opponent accepted this fight and the promotion allowed me to step into their domain. My opponent is tough and I’m extremely excited to share the cage with her and put on a show for the fight fans. Just grateful to be back in the cage. And plan to never take this long to fight ever again.”
