The ever confident NFA featherweight champion Josh Augustine (4-1) continued his success under the banner dispatching of Colton Hamm (1-1) via a thudding liver kick that quickly dropped Hamm and landed a couple of shots on the ground before the fight was waived off. The elephant in the room is when will one of the big shows will come calling?

Irfan Mulaabatinovic made a stylish professional debut taking out Tremiere Hollie (0-3) with a standing guillotine early in the first round that brought the sold-out crowd to its feet for the fan favorite Mulaabatinovic. Being one of the top prospects look to see a lot more of the Bosnian in the very near future.

The feature bout for the amateur portion of the card was one that fight fans throughout the region were looking forward to in welterweight champion Chuckie Brooks (9-3) defending against Kevin Roper (5-4). After an illness due to his weight cut Roper was forced out of the bout just before weigh ins. Insert NFA lightweight champion “Dangerous” Dan Liberson (6-2) who stepped up on literally 24 hours’ notice and up in weight class to save the championship affair. After a couple of big slams early on from champion Chuckie Brooks, Liberson had what looked like a painful kimura on the champion but Brooks was able to withstand the submission a majority of the first round and managed to escape toward the end of the round and was hunting a kimura of his own. Brooks landed some heavy outside leg kicks that clearly hurt Liberson and Brooks capitalized with a flurry of heavy shots dropping Liberson and was able to secure the back at one minute twenty-five seconds into the second round for a rear naked choke finish to retain the NFA welterweight. Hats off to “Dangerous” Dan Liberson who showed the grit, heart, and determination of a true champion. Look for Chuckie Brooks to go pro at some point in 2020.

The show stealer of the night was a bantamweight tilt between Tyler Hattfield (2-0) and Mckye Simmons (1-2) who wowed the Casa Loma Ballroom crowd with a bevy of striking exchanges throughout and showing they both could take and give big shots but it was Simmons that secured the unanimous decision (29-28 x3).
