The event took place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The entire card aired on ESPN. The event drew a reported attendance of 10,427 for a live gate of $687,778. UFC officials announced the figures after the event.

In the main event, former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington took on former champ Robbie Lawler. After five rounds Colby Covington was able  to defeat Robbie Lawler via unanimous decision.

In the co-main event, a pair of lightweight veterans finally met as Clay Guida went against Jim Miller. It only took Jim Miller 58 seconds to  defeat Clay Guida via guillotine.

Nasrat Haqparast, Matt Schnell, Antonina Shevchenko and Lucie Pudilova each earned an extra $50k bonuses. Haqparast and Schnell each were awarded “Performance of the Night” while Shevchenko vs. Pudilova earned “Fight of the Night.”
