OKTAGON 51 Video: Samuel Kristofic KO’s UFC veteran Carlos Vemola

UFC veteran Carlos Vemola has had several first-round finishes throughout his career, but this time he suffered a brutal outcome as a heavy favorite.
At Octagon 51 in Prague, Czech Republic, Samuel Kristofic landed a devastating two-punch combination to stop Vemola (36-8), ending a two-fight skid. A short left followed by a hard right caused the lights to go out for Vemola, sending him crashing to the canvas at 1:48 of the opener.
Kristofic (17-6) quickly realized his opponent was finished, but the referee ran over and jumped over Vemola, being careful not to touch the downed fighter. No further follow-up shots were attempted and Christofic began to cheer, winning cash as an underdog on his bet of +450.
Despite losing that fight, Vemola has enjoyed great success since leaving the UFC in 2013, with a record of 27 wins and 4 losses. This will be Kristofić’s first appearance since defeating Zdenek Polivka by unanimous decision at Octagon 36 last October.
