Professional Fighters League Unveils 2021 Season MVP Award

NEW YORK The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the fastest growing and most innovative sports league, today announced that in partnership with Socios.com, $PFL fan token holders will have the opportunity to vote on the PFL’s MVP of the 2021 PFL season, marking one of the first times a professional sports league has enabled fans with the ability to choose the season MVP. Each of the six champions for the respective six weight classes will be eligible for the award and the poll will go live following the championship event on October 27th at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The announcement is a continuation of the unprecedented partnership throughout the 2021 season, as the PFL became the first US-based sports league to launch a Fan Token on Socios.com, joining other leading global sports organizations. $PFL Fan Tokens are collectible digital assets that provide owners with access to voting rights in polls, VIP rewards, exclusive league and sponsor promotions, AR-enabled features, chat forums, games and competitions.

The partnership has been a tremendous success since the initial $PFL Fan Tokens sold out in less than 10 minutes earlier this year. Throughout the year, the PFL has utilized Socios.com and their capabilities by giving fans who bought $PFL Fan Tokens the opportunity to vote for the fight of their choice to be featured on the main card of PFL 1 along with fighter bonuses throughout the season.

“The PFL continues to innovate with leading technology innovations to engage with the 550 million MMA fans worldwide and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Socios.com and provide our $PFL fan token holders with the ability to cast their vote for the MVP of the 2021 PFL season,” said Peter Murray, CEO of Professional Fighters League. “The PFL World Championship will be a night to remember and it’s only fitting to award one of our champions as the MVP of the 2021 PFL season.”

“Socios.com is proud to build upon our partnership with the Professional Fighters League,” said Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com. “Elevating fan engagement has become an essential staple in sports, and it’s rewarding to work with a league such as PFL that shares the same vision and continues to bring that goal to fruition for MMA fans around the world.”

The PFL returns to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Wednesday, October 27 for the biggest night in MMA. The PFL World Championship will feature the final two fighters across all six divisions who will aim to become a world champion and earn the $1 million purse.
