Shane “Shaolin” Campbell Takes Aim at Menad Abella at Unified 36

UFC vet Shane “Shaolin” Campbell has finished all five of his fights inside the Unified MMA cage. He’ll look to keep that trend alive when he defends his Lightweight Title against Menad Abella at Unified 36 on March 1 in Canada. Before his title fight, he chatted with FightBook MMA.

Do you have any relationship with your opponent?

Never had a relationship with him before signing the bout agreement. I now have a close relationship with him though. We haven’t met but I have a strong desire to break his face.

Simply enough, why are you taking this fight?

I am taking this fight because I want to defend my title. As well as entertain my Albertan fans and haters.

What’s the most likely outcome for this fight?

I have never been good at predicting fights but I plan on unleashing some furious anger somewhere between the first and the fifth round. Maybe the whole way through.

How important is it to get this win?

I am undefeated under the Unified banner with five finishes. I need to keep those stats alive.

How will it feel to have that belt wrapped around your waist?

It will feel like… Relieving and glorious to be the only person with 5 Unified title wins.

Do you have any words for your opponent?

Yes, train hard but not too hard. I don’t want you backing out last minute from an injury and I lose the the opportunity to show off.
