Should WWE Book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns At Elimination Chamber?

With The Rock making his first appearance on Monday Night Raw in eight years, many have speculated whether or not he will face the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV in Australia next month. No one’s going to deny that The Rock vs. Roman Reigns makes sense for a WrestleMania PPV, in a general sense. However, because fans and critics are waiting for Cody Rhodes to finish his “story” by dethroning Roman Reigns’s championship reign at WrestleMania, many feel that The Rock facing off against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 instead would be a massive blunder on WWE.
The Elimination Chamber PPV isn’t among the Big Four WWE PPV events, which consists of WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and the Royal Rumble. However, because this year’s Elimination Chamber PPV takes place at a stadium and will be the first WWE televised event in Australia since the Global Warming event in 2002, it would make sense for that show to headline The Rock and Roman Reigns for the “dream match” that fans and critics have been waiting for years.
By doing so, The Rock wrestling Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber PPV gives the fans what they want regarding their “dream matches” while not interfering with Cody Rhodes avenging his loss to Roman Reigns at last year’s WrestleMania. Having The Rock headline the Elimination Chamber PPV also gives something special for the fans in Australia who haven’t had a live WWE event in over two decades, especially if WWE plans on making a big impression in the recent international PPV events they’ve been doing. Although neither The Rock nor Roman Reigns is advertised for the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV, at least not yet, there’s still over a month left for WWE to make things right for those two to go at it for a “dream match.”
