The Big Show, aka Paul Wright, is among the most legendary giants in professional wrestling history. Debuting in the business in 1995 for World Championship Wrestling, The Big Show achieved his best accomplishments in his two-decade-long career in WWE, where he was a multi-time World Champion and defeated a long list of legendary superstars that include The Undertaker, Triple H, Kurt Angle, John Cena, and many more. As his in-ring career has significantly winded down, The Big Show currently works for All Elite Wrestling as a commentator and part-time wrestler.

With that said, although The Big Show achieved overwhelming success since making his WWE debut in 1999, there’s no denying that his in-ring career has taken much criticism over the past decade. Such criticism stems from WWE’s booking of The Big Show, as he’s gone through many face and heel turns throughout his in-ring career, becoming somewhat of a meme in recent years. The Big Show has also received criticized for supposedly overstaying his welcome, as many felt he should’ve retired many years ago.

However, despite all the criticism The Big Show gets, his talents as an in-ring performer don’t receive enough credit from many fans and critics. Big Show may be a future first-ballot WWE Hall of Famer, but one could argue that The Big Show has one of the most underappreciated in-ring careers out of any main-event performer in the past two decades. Despite the booking he’s endured throughout his career, the fact that The Big Show was able to wrestle for over two decades showcases his longevity as a heavyweight performer.

It’s also worth noting that The Big Show’s talents as an in-ring performer don’t get enough credit, considering the physical athleticism he exhibited during the early years of his in-ring career. Believe it or not, The Big Show could perform high-flying maneuvers as he used to do dropkicks off the top rope. The Big Show may have been physically massive in size, but he was very agile for someone his size.

The Big Show also doesn’t get enough recognition for being able to deliver a quality match. The Big Show has had many great matches, especially when paired against other heavyweight performers like Brock Lesnar and Sheamus. Even towards the tail end of his career, The Big Show continued to have classic matches against stars like Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman, showing that he could hang with the younger talent while being reliable enough to put them over.
