The Ins and Outs of BRAVE CF’s Stacked Lightweight Division

Seef District, Bahrain – In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, the Lightweight division, up to 70kg, or 155lbs, is usually the most stacked category, due to high availability of adult men near that weight, considering that most fighters cut roughly 10, 20 pounds before each fight. BRAVE Combat Federation is no exception to this trend and has in its Lightweight division, arguably, the most stacked division in the entire promotion.

Currently led by the world champion Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub, the BRAVE CF Lightweight division is a true shark tank, with its contenders eager to take on the kingpin.

The champion himself was in a similar position not long ago, as he became the Lightweight title holder back in November, when he dethroned a literal “Predator”, former world champion Cleiton Silva.

Now, Ayoub is on the top and now he’s the one with a target on his back. The options for the first title defense of Fierceness are many and the threats are coming from all sides.

One of the longest active BRAVE CF fighters, Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir is competing under the truly global promotion’s banner since BRAVE CF 1: The Beginning, back in 2016.

Currently on the best shape of his career, and coming off two consecutive victories over Yousef Wehbe and Cian Cowley, the Egyptian-Bahraini star feels he’s finally ready to take a shot at the world title, and has been involved in a scuffle with the champion recently, when he crashed the weigh-ins for BRAVE CF 44 to demand a title shot against the winner of Cleiton Silva and Amin Ayoub – the Frenchman knocked out the Brazilian and could now face off against ”The Butcher”.

Kyrgyzstan’s own Abdisalam Kubanychbek has not been a BRAVE CF fighter for as long as Amir but that doesn’t mean that ”Omok” hasn’t made an impact in his 12-month tenure within the fastest-growing MMA promotion in the world.

Kubanychbek is on a three-finish streak, including two knockouts over Vagif Askerov and João Paulo Rodrigues, and a second-round submission over Jahongir Saidjamolov, and is another candidate for a title shot.

Known as “The Future”, Sam Patterson might have to reconsider his nickname, as his present seems as bright as once promised. The British youngster lost his BRAVE CF debut back in 2017 but since then is on a six-fight streak undefeated, including the biggest win of his professional career over Brazil’s Felipe Silva.

Last but not least, Roland Dy is the BRAVE CF Fighter of the Year in 2020 and has recently signed a new deal with the fastest-growing promotion in the world.

Dy closed the year of 2020 with a dominant performance and a unanimous decision victory over New Zealand’s John Brewin at Kombat Kingdom’s BRAVE CF 44.

The cards are dealt, the champion can’t wait to step into the BRAVE CF Arena once again, this time to defend his title for the very first time, who will be the challenger?
