LAS VEGAS – Dana White’s Contender Series 13 took place tonight at The Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas. The event streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
Three fighters received UFC contracts which includes Women’s strawweight Maycee Barber, bantamweight Domingo Pilarte and middleweight Edmen Shahbazyan.
Maycee Barber defeated Jamie Colleen via TKO elbows in Round 3 at the 4:15 mark. The first two rounds was a back and forth fight but during the third round Barber scored a takedown and landed a couple of elbows that cut open Colleen. The ref saw enough and stopped the fight.
Domingo Pilarte defeated Vince Morales with a rear-naked choke in Round 2 at the 1:52 mark. During the first two rounds both fighters tried hard to finish the fight with both fighters lading their strikes. During the third round, Pilarte was able to get the fight on the ground he was able to take his back and sunk in the choke with Morales passing out.
Edmen Shahbazyan defeated Antonio Jones via TKO via punches in Round 1 at the 0:40 mark. The start of the first round both fighters wasted no time and started exchanging punches until Shahbazyan clinched up with Jones. Shahbazyan was able to land knees to the body and started throwing punches until one was able to drop Jones. Shahbazyan took advantage and started dropping bombs until the ref saw enough and called off the fight.
