Troy Palmer: “A home crowd brings something special to it”

Troy Palmer is riding two knockouts on the trot and is vying for a third.
6’5” Troy Palmer returns to the Trigon this Saturday at BYB 36: Cardiff Brawl 2. The fight will mark his third with BYB since August of 2024, putting Palmer right at one fight every three months.
The Clydach Vale product is ready for action this weekend and won’t be one to miss. Fighting in his hometown will be a treat not only for him, but for his hometown faithful.
“Can’t wait to get back in there,” Palmer says. “With it being in Cardiff, a home crowd brings something special to it.”
Preparation for BYB 36 has also been on schedule. Maintaining peak form while consistently improving is a tricky science. But Palmer and his team feel like they’re on the right track.
“My training camp has been spot on. My coach is very happy with how it’s went.”
A man of many knockouts
Troy Palmer is looking for his third knockout in bare knuckle in his third pro fight. In his first fight, a body shot knockout against last-minute opponent Steve Galloway at BYB 30, set the stage for Palmer. He returned in November at BYB 33 and finished Peter Radford with another first round knockout.
When asked which he prefers, body shot finishes or traditional knockouts, Palmer made it clear what his preference was.
”The head is always better.” Palmer continues, “The fans want to see the blood and the pain and breaking someone’s face gives them what they want to see.”

Continuing on that theme, Troy Palmer goes on to talk about why bare knuckle boxing, to him, is the most exciting combat sports.
“There’s more blood and more knockouts. It’s just better in every way.”
In the main event of BYB 36: Cardiff Brawl 2, UK bare knuckle boxing legend Barrie Jones is facing off Gregoris Cisneros in a bid for his second title. Palmer makes a prediction and, of course, he goes with “The Welsh Wrecking Machine,” Barrie Jones. “I think Jones will win by knockout.”
When asked why to tune in to see him fight, Palmer gave one ominous answer as to what a newly tuned in fan can expect. “Knockout number 3 is coming up.”
If that doesn’t get you excited, nothing will.
