CM Punk is once again the talk of the wrestling world since returning to WWE after almost a decade of being gone from the company. After getting fired by AEW in one of the most controversial departures in modern wrestling history, CM Punk’s return to WWE so soon after his AEW departure comes as a shock to so many, especially considering the well-documented bad blood between him and the WWE over the years. And the fact that CM Punk has a reputation of his own for being hard to work with, based on the numerous stories that have circulated about him, one could imagine that there are probably many talents behind the scenes that aren’t too fond of having to work with him.

Furthermore, as CM Punk is currently in a program with current World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, it seems likely that CM Punk will be challenging him for the World Heavyweight Championship belt at WrestleMania 40. Because of this, some may be against the idea of CM Punk being the one to defeat Seth Rollins for the belt. Although some fans may like the idea of CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Championship, Seth Rollins has been a workhorse for WWE for a long time and has been among the most reliable performers for over a decade.

Seth Rollins losing to someone in his mid-40s and having a somewhat poor reputation may damage his on-screen credibility, even considering CM Punk’s name value to WWE. It’s also worth noting that Seth Rollins losing to CM Punk doesn’t send a positive message to the talent in the back.

That isn’t to say that WWE shouldn’t book CM Punk as a featured performer for years to come. However, being the one to beat Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship could backfire on so many levels. And with CM Punk’s track record of attitude problems, who knows how a CM Punk World Heavyweight Title reign may turn out if he were to defeat Seth Rollins?
