Andres Rodriguez aiming for 3rd straight win at Combat Zone 69
Andres Rodriguez is back in action at Combat Zone 69 on Feb. 2 in New Hampshire, trying to improve to 3-0 with a third straight first-round knockout win. Before that, the top New England prospect spoke with Fightbook MMA.
How has your training camp been going for this fight?
It’s been an adventure (laughs). It’s my first time back to 140 in a while; it’s been a nice experience seeing my body transform.
Is this the most challenging training camp you’ve had?
(Laughs) Since I became a professional, it’s just a blur — they’re all the same, except they’re getting harder and harder. Every training camp is hard (laughs).
What is it that keeps you motivated?
I want to change my lifestyle. I want to be a real professional. I want to be a full-time fighter, and I’m extremely motivated to make a better living for my family.
What’s your prediction for this upcoming fight?
The same thing I’ve been saying since I turned professional. I want to clip him and I want to submit him. I want to drop him with a punch and then jump on him and submit him. I’m trying to be the brown Gunnar Nelson.
Where would you like to be one year from today?
I’d just like to keep on winning and keep on getting better every day.
