AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – On Monday, June 01, 2020, another UFC fighter was spotted in the crowds of Auckland, New Zealand.
Israel Adesanya joins in the protest down Queen Street and you can watch his speech in the video above. The rally was organized in solidarity with protests across the United States following the killing of an unarmed black man George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Isreal says in part: “White people jump when they see me and I smile at them and now I gotta stay to the side and let them walk through just so they don’t get scared when they see me why cus I’m black just because I’m black.“
It is reported that an estimated 4000 people gathered in central Auckland to attend the Black Lives Matter March for Solidarity. Isreal Adesanya is the third UFC fighter spotted supporting George Floyd. FightBook MMA reported that Jon Jones posted a video on Instagram of him taking spray cans away from individuals in Albuquerque, N.M.
